A Letter From Our Pastor

Dear Church Family,

It’s hard to believe it’s February already.  The Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays are over and things at the church are back to our normal routine.  While I love the holidays, it feels good to get back to normal (as normal as things can be in the life of a church).

We (people) are creatures of habit.  We like for our lives to follow a set pattern.  There’s nothing wrong with that, unless God is pushing us to get out of our comfort zones and do something different.  That’s how it was for me when I got ready to leave teaching and coaching for ministry.  You see, I was comfortable with my life:  fall was football, winter was off-season and spring was track..  Summer for the most part was a time to refresh.  It’s not that way all of the time at the church.  While there’s a routine so to speak, the daily life of the church can change with one phone call.  At that point, your schedule is not your own and belongs to God and whatever ministry he sends you to do.

Let me close by giving you this word of advice… Look forward to God using you in some  form of a ministry.  Remember, even though a rut (routine) may be comfortable, ruts can get so deep that we just plain get stuck.  So look forward to the time that God moves you from your rut.

In Christ Love,

Brother Bo
