A Letter From Our Pastor

Dear Church Family,

I was reading a daily devotional and thought I might share it with you.  Isaiah 55:6-7 states: “Seek the LORD while He may be found; call on Him while He is near.  Let the wicked forsake His way and the evil man his thoughts.  Let him turn to the LORD, and He will have mercy on him, and to our God, for He will freely pardon.”  The very wording implies that Israel did exactly what He did not want them to do.  They sought satisfaction and fulfillment in the world.  They believed the world would satisfy, thus they rejected God and His word.  So often, we run after things of this world:  money, fame and pleasure of various kinds.  Because we seek after these things, we neglect the important things.  We neglect our relationship with the Lord, putting Him behind the things of this world that bring pleasure for a season.  In doing that, we make these things our god.  You may say Brother Bo, I am a Christian, I love God.  Those may be your words but what do your actions say?  Paul reminds us in Romans 12:1-2:  “Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God — This is your spiritual act of worship.  Do not  conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.  Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is — His good, pleasing and perfect will. “  You see, we are to live sacrificially, denying ourselves the things that take our attention and our focus off God.

Let me close by saying thank you for all that you do to expand the kingdom of God.

Love You All,

Brother Bo
